Utilizing recordings of Ojibwe speakers has continually been a huge part of advancing Ojibwe language proficiency in second language Ojibwe learners. Many new learners may utilize these recordings in any way they see fit to advance personal language skills. We encourage learners to listen to and practice transcribing (writing the Ojibwe that you hear) as an activity to help with understanding and listening skills. Practicing translating these recordings is also another recommendation for new learners. Along with these recordings are the transcriptions for learners to review, read along, etc. Translations are purposely left out as we do not have direct translations from the speakers themselves. Our goal at Nisookamig with these recordings is to become a hub for advanced language learning for second language Ojibwe learners. The recordings published are recordings done by Aazhoo-bines John Daniel working with these elders from 2018 - present. Some recordings have been donated, or received from elsewhere. The recordings that haven't been collected by Aazhoob have notes on the transcriptions as to where they came from. We welcome others to donate recordings with or without transcriptions to share here for future learners to utilize.​
